Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radi Allahu ‘Anhu) narrates: “I heard the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) saying: ‘Whoever sees me in a
dream will see me in in his wekefulness, and the Devil cannot imitate me.”
This Hadith Shareef tells us That the Devil can never come in the form of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). Thus, Whoever
sees the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) in dream is indeed very fortune. The Devil can come in other forms, but see how Allah has
created His Beloved Prophet (S.A.W.) in this unique way.
The other unique quality of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) is that be never possessed a shadow so nobody could stand on
even the shadow of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) and disrespect it in any way.
When Abdullah bi Zaid Ansari ( Radi Allahu ‘Anhu) heard about the death of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.), he was
supplication: “O Allah! The sight of your Beloved (S.A.W.) has gone away from my sight of this world. O Allah! The sight
of the Prophet (S.A.W.) is no more, then take my sight away!” He became blind immediately.
When a good dream is seen, recite thrice: “Alhamdollillah.” Then relate the dream to a person who close to you so that
the person would not interpret the dream badly. Its is stated in Muslim that: “When one of you sees a dream that he likes,
he should thank Allah (The Exalted) and make mention of it.” And in Bukhari it is that: “When one of you sees in a dream
which he dislikes, he must spit on his left three times and say “I seek refuge in Allah from the Shaitaan, the cursed,” that is,
he/she must recite: A ‘oodhu Billaahi minash Sahitaanir rajeem,” In Muslim it is started that he sould “Turn ffrom the side on
which he was lying.” “Or get up and offer prayer.”
A good dream is from Allah as Hazrat Abu Qatada (RAdi Allahu ‘Anhu) Narrates the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said: “A
good dream is from Allah, And a bad dream is from sahitaan.
So whoever has seen (in a dream) something he disliked, he should spit without saliva thrice on his left and seek Allah’s
refuge from the Devil, for it will not harm him and Devil cannot apear in my shape.” When a bad dream is seen recite the
following invocation thrice and Insha-Allah it will not cause you any harm: “I invoke the perfect words for Allah against
their coming even near me.” In order to avoid having a bad dream, remember to recite all the seven kalimahs, Aayatul Kursi
and to read Durood Shareef until you fall assleep.
The messenger of Allah (S.A.W.) said: “It is great sin to conjure a false dream and narrate it,”. People a usually have the
habit to relate false dreams in an effort to gain respect in the community or among social groups.
However, remember it is Allah Almighty Who gives respect and who also degrades a person. Thus, one should not in
any circumstance relate a false dream and may Allah azza wajai Guide us all Aameen!
