Muslim marriage or wedding occurs when a Muslim man and Muslim woman are united together. This is irrespective of their race or at least two Muslim men and two Muslim female usually witness marriage of the couple and this. The Islamic marriage is usually officiated by a Muslim male and it does not matter if the man has qualification in the Islamic law or even know how to conduct a formal style of Islamic marriage.
Conditions for Islamic Marriages
For the Islamic marriage contract to be valid, it needs to be at least two men or just one male but at least two females to officiate a true Islamic marriage. Since most of the Islamic marriages are duly performed in the Masjid, and the bride remains in another location, then a Muslim person is chosen to represent her and also two people are committed as witness to that representation and two other witnesses to officiate the marriage. This makes at least two witnesses to the bride’s representative.
Hanafi rule also specifies that it is the requirement to give full details about the dowry at the start of the marriage, or otherwise the marriage will be terminated and subjected according to hanafi rule. The Islamic marriage is deemed to valid even with the absence of being recorded in written material, or even stored in computer. Thus is deemed necessary to follow the Islamic law, rather than legal requirement although it is necessity.
ISLAMIC POLYGAMY
The Islamic law allows a Muslim male to do polygamy or even Bigamy. This does not matter even if the wife is still alive or after just an existing wedding. However, the male is confined only to four female wives and this is irrespective of any civil restrictions since the law of Allah Subhana Wa Tallah is deemed to be the final say. The Muslim male has to have a valid reason to opt for second or third marriage. Unlike the popular belief, Muslim men are asked to remain contend with one woman only. In case, the woman is unable to bear children or not fulfilling her marital duties, only then the husband is allowed to go for another woman in his life. This law does not violate any human rights but a nice way to save the man from adultery and other sins.
