Vice Chancellor (VC) Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar has said with the promotion of Islamic values, a society based on peace and integrity can be created as the most accomplished lesson of human rights has been taught by the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW). He was addressing the concluding session of a two-day seminar on Human Rights. The seminar was organized by IUB in collaboration with Ministry of Human Rights and Ministry of Minority Affairs in Ghotvi Hall of Abbasia Campus.

The VC said one must avoid harming any one through words or act besides fulfilling his duties regarding human rights. Speaking on the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner Mian Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmed said the Holy Prophet (SAW) was sent on the earth to pull the humanity out of the caves of ignorance and darkness and put it on the right path. All the charters of human rights of modern age were based on the teachings of Islam, especially the last sermon of the Holy Prophet (SAW) at his farewell Hajj was a proof of the glory of humanity, he added.

Meanwhile, the Islamia University Bahawalpur and the Cholistan Development Authority have mutually agreed to offer veterinary training courses under Short Term Veterinary Skill Development Programme. In this regard, an MoU was signed by Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar and Managing Director Cholistan Development Authority (CDA) Ikram Ullah Khan.

Accordingly to the MoU, Cholistani farmers will be equipped with basic skills in dairy development, poultry farming, feed formulation, livestock management and medical treatment. This programme is being funded by the CDA while the Islamia University Bahawalpur is providing technical expertise, laboratories and infrastructure.
